A bedtime ritual for iPhone

Teach your brain a sound that means sleep

Every night in bed, Mindtone plays the same soft Sleep Signal and a calm mix that lasts all night. Same sound, same place, every night. That’s the whole idea.

Your Sleep Signal

Five soft bells.
Only in bed.

Every Mindtone night starts with the same 15-second sequence of soft bells. It never changes. Same sound, every night. That’s what makes it work.

You won’t hear it here. Hearing the Signal during the day weakens the link, so it only ever plays in bed.

How a night works

The same few steps, every night

Nothing to set up in the dark. The ritual stays simple, so it’s easy to repeat.

  1. Before bed

    Set your bedtime

Choose a time and the nights you want. A reminder lets you know when it’s time to rest.

  2. In bed

    Phone down. Lights off.

Open Mindtone and tap Go to Sleep. Your Sleep Signal plays, then stays softly under the music for up to 10 minutes while you drift off.

  3. All night

    Tonight’s mix plays on

About ten hours of calm music, rebuilt every night and played through your Spotify Premium or Apple Music. No music service? Mindtone Plus includes Mindtone sleep sounds. Smart Fade can lower the volume gradually over the time you set.

  4. Morning

    Good morning

Wake up to your alarm, if you set one. Some mornings, Mindtone asks one quick question: how long did it take you to fall asleep?

It dims on its own. Tap to wake it.

At night

No clock. No glare.

There’s nothing to check in bed: no clock, no countdown. After a few seconds the screen fades to near black, and the moon keeps breathing, so you know Mindtone is still with you.

You can lock your phone. The music keeps playing.

Still awake?

That’s okay. Let the music play and rest your eyes. If you’re still awake after about 20 minutes, get up for a while and come back when you feel sleepy.

Seven nights

One moon for every night

Each night you hear your Signal in bed, a moon fills in. Seven nights make a cycle. Keep going: the link grows with every night.

Night 0 of 7

Cycle complete

Your brain has heard the Signal 7 times.

In the morning

One tap. Your own estimate.

Mindtone doesn’t track your sleep: no sensors, no microphone, no Health data. Some mornings it simply asks how long it took you to fall asleep, and your Journal shows how your nights are going.

The idea

A simple method, made into a nightly ritual

Classical conditioning

A sound that always comes at the same moment becomes a cue. That’s why the Signal never changes.

Stimulus control

Your bed is for sleep. That’s why the Signal only plays in bed, and why Mindtone suggests getting up if you can’t sleep.

Mindtone is not a medical treatment. If you have trouble sleeping most nights, talk to a doctor.

The music

Free with Spotify Premium
or Apple Music

Connect yours to start. Every night Mindtone builds a fresh mix of calm music and plays it through your account. On Spotify, it lives in a private playlist called Mindtone · Tonight.

Spotify needs a Premium account and the Spotify app on your iPhone. Apple Music needs an active subscription. Without either, Mindtone Plus includes Mindtone sleep sounds. Mindtone runs on iPhone with iOS 26.4 or later.
